"Prediction is difficult, especially about the future," said Niels Bohr. And he was a Danish quantum physicist, no less. So, for an ordinary person like me, there’s little point in losing hope by worrying about the future. It’s always out of reach, teasing us with questions we can’t answer. How long will this last? When will things change? What’s next? The truth is, no one knows. And perhaps that’s for the best. Otherwise, we’d have to worry twice as much.
While we sweat over trying to interpret the signs of the times, life quietly unfolds—moment by moment, day by day. And only in these small slices of time do we actually have a say. Not in any grand cosmic sense, but in the here and now: in the words we say, the actions we take, and the dreams we finally stop putting off.
This brings me to a question I’ve come across recently: Is there something you’ve dreamed of doing or saying for a long time? Why haven’t you done it? And here comes this letter’s only reference to backsides: would today be the day to give yourself a little ass kick and try?
I love this question because it’s not about solving big problems. It’s about deciding to take one step toward something that matters to you. This might not change the course of history, but it could save your day—or someone else’s.
Regardless of our circumstances, each of us has the chance to make today a little brighter, easier, or more meaningful—not with perfect solutions, but with simple ones. It might not be flashy, but it’s honest. And maybe, that’s enough.
Now that Christmas is charging at us in full force, I want to thank you. Thank you for being part of what we do, for trusting us, and for showing us time and again that the small moments of connection are what matter most. They remind us why we do what we do.
Whatever your life looks like right now, I hope it includes moments worth remembering—even the darker ones. Because if nothing else, they’re yours.
Welcome, unpredictable, unavoidable, and certainly surprising 2025.
